I haven't heard back from Willie yet. So no new news. But I wanted to let the folks reading this blog know that the next entry will not be until around Feb. 8th. I have friends visiting from South Florida--Brave Souls! No one has ever visited me in Alaska in the winter! We are off to Fairbanks, Chena Hot Springs & basically I'm staying away from the computer for a few days. Thank you for reading. And I will be back the end of the week with an update from Willie, and lots of stories I'm sure...
Have a wonderful week! Cheers, Christine

The Alaska Studies students at Tri-Valley have some questions for Willie. They are wondering about his change of plans from tent to cabin and how that might affect his wood supply. They imagine that the tent and the wood stove in the tent probably required less wood. What does Willie think about this? They also wonder about the wolves. The descriptions of the tracks and activity are fascinating. They wonder why this area is so populated and whether it has always been populated. We are reading Sheldon’s diary to find some of the answers and await more news from Willie. Sonja Schmidt
It is now Monday p.m.
I'm writing from Lincoln NH. People in my part of the country are mourning the outcome of the Super Bowl...and the end of the Patriots season.
It is extremely fascinating to read about Willie's adventures.
I'm stopping at the library to take out Sheldon's book.
I can't even imagine what it must be like to have a 22 year long dream come true.

Thank you for sharing this dream with us. Our thoughts are with you both every night. Please expand on what you expect to accomplish with photos taken one hundred years apart.

Tuesday, February 12...Since there have been no new posts since Feb. 3 students are wondering what is happening with Willie. I'll be posting their questions for this week soon. Sonja
We are the "brave souls" from Florida that have kept Christine from tending to the blog. She tends to the blog while in Denali. We had planned to travel from their Fairbanks cabin to their cabin in Denali during the past week, but were concerned with traveling the 130 miles in temperatures that approach -50 degrees. Sometimes components of cars just fail at those temps.
Fortunately, the area where Willie is located hasn't been that cold. In regards to the cabin versus tent, Willie is sure that the Arctic Oven would be more efficient regarding the firewood and stove usage.
Christine will be back very soon with updates - as Annamarie and I have returned to Florida. Thanks to Christine for the "warm" welcome and showing us around their winter wonderland.
lookin' forward to catching up on Willie's last ten days or so....its been cold here in Anchortown, so it must have been hellishin' cold in the park

Hello ALL!
Sonja please look at the blog heading:For The Tri-Valley Alaska Studies Class 2/14. Willie answered the class questions about the cabin/arctic tent-wood supply. I will post the wolf answers from The Park's wildlife biologist asap (i just need more time- thanks). Willie looks forward to the next set of questions... Jeff- he thinks it is interesting to see if there is any obvious changes in the landscape 100 years later... Pat C- sorry about the Patriots, but Willie had to mourn the loss of the Packers 1st! Thanks for writing and enjoy the book. The 22 year long dream is, "Surreal"!... Cory, you & Annamarie made a VERY COLD week VERY FUN! Thanks!... Stratto- how are you? It wasn't so "hellishin' for him after all. I on the other hand, think that kinda cold is just flat out HELL in a hand-basket served ice cold! Thank you everyone for your comments. Have a wonderful day! Christine
